The organizers had promised that the culminating event of the hunger strike would be a one-million-man demonstration throughout all 36 states and the nation’s capital.
A diverse array of posters bearing the message “we are hungry” were seen among the demonstrators who descended upon the street in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
