Eligibility for Alfa Fellowship Program in 2022
Alfa fellows have exceptional academic and professional credentials, demonstrated personal initiative, and clear professional goals and expectations.
They also have a demonstrated interest in Russian and European/Eurasian affairs.
- Open to German, British, or American nationals between the ages of 25 and 35. (Citizens of Russia are ineligible to apply.)
- Two years of relevant work experience and a graduate degree in business, economics, journalism, law, public policy, or a related discipline are prerequisites.
- Candidates without a graduate degree must hold an undergraduate degree and five to six years of relevant work experience.
- Outstanding academic credentials and professional achievements
- Active engagement in civic or public duty
- Russian language proficiency at the time of application is preferred but not necessary.
- To be eligible for the program if one does not speak Russian, one must show fluency in a second language.
- Fellows are active in the community or the public sector and have shown a leadership capacity.
- A significant endeavour, the Alfa Fellowship Program is focused on the Fellows’ duties in Russia.
- The Alfa Fellowship Program will not fund independent or academic research.
