Bode George challenges Tinubu government on fuel subsidy, saying, “Be honest with Nigerians

Bode George, a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has demanded that President Bola Tinubu tell Nigerians the truth about the fuel subsidy program.

If Tinubu’s government is still secretly subsidizing fuel prices, George added, he should notify Nigerians.

In an interview with Arise Television, the ex-PDP deputy national chairman criticized Tinubu’s government for being secretive.

Rumor has it that the fuel subsidy regime was covertly reinstated by the Tinubu administration.

According to Isa Yuguda, the former governor of Bauchi State, the federal government is now shelling out more money for fuel subsidies than in the past.

Nigeria presently spends $600 million per month on petroleum imports, according to Minister of Finance Wale Edun, who made the revelation amid these claims.

George responded by saying, “I’m so miffed about the goings on about this particular industry.” Who is telling the truth when they say the subsidy is still in place and someone else says it’s gone?

For the love of God, let us know the truth; it is our basic human right, and the people will back your success if they know the truth.

We want to know what’s going on at NNPCL since it’s owned by the federal government, which means all Nigerians own a piece of it.

“I’m not an expert in that field of operation, but I’m well-educated enough to hear both sides of an argument and draw my own conclusions. If we feel compelled to back the government’s operations or policies, we will, and if we find flaws in their reasoning, we will point them out.”
