While making an appearance at Toopsoul Studio not long ago, Cabasa offered the words of wisdom.
When asked about the state of the Nigerian music industry, he said that musicians needed to step it up.
“You need to provide a lot more to the market than just your artistic abilities. You should also have an entrepreneurial spirit. The music industry in general, and the sense of financial gain from it in particular.
Cabasa said that musicians need to know what they’re agreeing onto when they sign record contracts.
You have the freedom to choose, which is a blessing from God. You can choose to remain seated or to get up and leave. The company isn’t the issue; it’s our mentality.
