Chidimma Adetshina’s mother faces allegations of fraud and identity theft in Miss SA probe.

Preliminary findings on the investigation into the nationality of beauty queen, Chidinma Adetshina, have been announced by the South African Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

The validity of Chidimma’s candidacy for Miss South Africa 2024—a model with Nigerian ancestry—has lately been the topic of controversy.

It was in the late 90s in Johannesburg when her parents supposedly met; they then settled in Pimville.

Following her qualification for the round of 16, the dispute concerning the 23-year-old’s nationality began to gain steam on social media in July.

In a statement released on Monday, South African Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber said that an investigation was initiated by the department in response to formal requests made by the Miss SA organizers to ask about Chidimma’s citizenship.

Late Wednesday, the DHA released a video and statement in which they said Adetshina’s mom may have been involved in some sort of fraud or identity theft.

The individual listed in the Home Affairs documents as Chidimma Adetshina’s mother may have committed fraud and identity theft, according to the facts we have found so far.

Due to her newborn status in 2021, Adetshina was unable to have been involved in her mother’s suspected illegal conduct. The inability to register her kid caused pain to an innocent South African mother, whose identity may have been stolen in the fraud perpetrated by Adetshina’s mother.
