Keown kicks against the new Chelsea star, saying, “He doesn’t get past his man

Martin Keown, an ex-Arsenal player, has spoken out against the club’s pursuit of Chelsea sensation Raheem Sterling.

The England national team player “doesn’t get past his man,” says Keown.

After being benched for last weekend’s Premier League opener against Manchester City, Sterling’s time with Chelsea looks to be coming to an end.

The 29-year-old was subsequently barred from participating in first-team training sessions by manager Enzo Maresca.

Since he is no longer needed, Sterling is likely to depart Stamford Bridge before the summer transfer window ends.

Keown told talkSPORT that he would not sign Sterling if asked if Arsenal should do so.

In my opinion, he is a really good player. Off the ball, though, he was at his finest during his time at Man City.

Pep Guardiola’s play was characterized by constant movement away from the ball. He rushes the ball too much and can’t get beyond his defender when he has possession of it.
