Soldier killed at checkpoint denounced by Ebonyi community elders

Posted by

The Edda Elders Council, located in the Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has strongly denounced the senseless assault and murder of a soldier in the Amangwu axis by individuals suspected of being armed bandits.

Chief John Emegha and chairman Livinus Irem of the Edda Elders’ Council denounced the unfortunate and unwarranted attack on the military facility in a statement signed on Thursday and made accessible to newsmen in Abakaliki.

This savage conduct is at odds with our fundamental beliefs and ideals, and the people of Edda denounce it in its whole, as they have always despised evil in all its manifestations.

Nonetheless, the security authorities deserve praise for the skilled and proactive way they have dealt with the dire security situation. Since the Edda people are known for their tranquility, they would stop at nothing to ensure that their clan’s current state of calm is intact.

“The Edda Clan leadership will work with the appropriate security agencies to apprehend those responsible for the heinous crime and hold them accountable.”
