Governor Bala Mohammed designates the 17th Emir of Ningi

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has designated Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ňanyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi.

Alhaji Haruna, now retaining a 1st Class rank, is the oldest son of the deceased Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Muhammad Ňanyaya, who died around one week ago.

On Sunday, the appointment was officially announced in Bauchi through a statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity.

Originally born in Ningi in 1956, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ňanyaya formerly held the position of Chiroman Ningi. He has a spouse and children.

Governor Mohammed did the appointment in compliance with the authority bestowed upon him under Cap. 24 Item 3(1) of the Bauchi State legislation on the Appointment of Emirs and Chiefs, based on the advice of the kingmakers.

“The Bauchi State Government affirms its trust in the new Emir’s capacity to maintain the heritage of his deceased father in promoting harmony, tranquility, and progress in the Ningi Emirate and Bauchi State in its whole,” the statement stated.

Furthermore, Governor Mohammed reiterated his administration’s dedication to bolstering traditional institutions, acknowledging their crucial function in upholding peace and advancement within the state.
